Hetzon Marroquin Reyes, the owner and operator of A&M Homes, LLC in Morgantown, West Virginia, was arrested today on charges related to harboring individuals unlawfully in the United States. The announcement was made by United States Attorney William Ihlenfeld.

The indictment, unsealed today, alleges that Reyes, also known as "Hector," age 40, employed and concealed individuals who were not citizens and unlawfully present in the country. It is alleged that he used others' social security numbers to create tax documents for these individuals and produced false driver’s licenses and immigration forms for submission to the West Virginia Division of Labor inspectors.

Reyes faces multiple charges: one count of conspiracy to harbor aliens for commercial advantage and private financial gain; 32 counts of false representations regarding social security numbers; one count of corrupt interference with due administration of tax code; and one count of fraud related to visas and other documents.

If convicted, Reyes could face up to 10 years in federal prison for each conspiracy and fraud charge. Each count of false representation carries a potential five-year sentence, while the corrupt interference charge carries up to three years. Sentencing would be determined by a federal district court judge considering U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.

Assistant U.S. Attorneys Jarod Douglas and Carly Nogay are prosecuting the case for the government. The investigation was conducted by the Department of Homeland Security, Internal Revenue Service-Criminal Investigations, and Social Security Administration-Office of Inspector General.

It should be noted that an indictment is merely an allegation. Each defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
