Bill Sliwa Joins WLU from The Registry

West Liberty University welcomed a new vice president and member of the President’s Cabinet this January as New York native Bill Sliwa joined the administration.

We are pleased to have Bill join us and step in to lead our hard-working team of enrollment, admissions and student life professionals. We look forward to his insight and experience,” said Dr. Cathy Monteroso, interim president.

Utilizing the assistance of an outside higher education interim placement agency known as The Registry, the university selected Sliwa to serve in this position until a full-scale search is held.

His official title is interim Vice President of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management and his office is located on the first floor of Shaw Hall.

Sliwa most recently served at Chicago State University (Ill.) where he was interim vice president of Enrollment for 11 months. Prior to that he was an independent contractor for Spark451, a higher education marketing firm that focuses on enrollment marketing, creative services and technology.

Sliwa earned his master’s degree in educational administration from Syracuse University (N.Y.), and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Buffalo State College (N.Y.).

West Liberty University is West Virginia’s oldest public institution of higher learning and offers more than 70 undergraduate majors, plus a growing number of graduate programs, both online and on campus.
