West Liberty University’s Presidential Search Committee 2022 met today at 5 p.m. on Zoom.
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Thomas Cervone at 5:04 p.m. and, in addition to Cervone was attended by: Jack Adams, Michael Baker, Arlene Brantley, Keith Bell, Sydney Burkle, Katie Cooper, John Dolan, Jamie Evick, Ryan Glanville, Dan Joseph, Karen Kettler, David McKinley, Chris McPherson, Jason Metz and Stephanie Shaw. Members unable to attend were Richard Carter and Richard Lucas.
Also attending were two invited guests: Jerome Gilbert and Richard Wueste, consultants from the AGB Search Firm, hired by the Search Committee to lead the presidential search.
Pursuant to WV Code § 6-9A-4, at 5:06 p.m., a motion to retire to executive session was made by David McKinley and seconded by Dolan; the motion passed unanimously.
A motion to rise from executive session at 5:54 p.m. was made by McKinley and seconded by Joseph; by unanimous approval, the Board rose from executive session.
There were no actions emanating from Executive Session, however the Search Committee authorized AGB to draft a tentative timeline to be approved by the search committee.
AGB consultants also indicated they will be holding on-campus listening sessions in early January 2023. Those consultants include Jerome Gilbert and Richard Wueste. Gilbert was the president of Marshall University from 2016 to 2022.
On motion by Metz and seconded by McKinley, the meeting then adjourned at 5:55 p.m.
