Catholic Charities West Virginia (CCWVa) has named Toni Wiesberg as the recipient of its 2025 Charity in Action Award for Martinsburg. The organization will honor Wiesberg at a luncheon scheduled for October 22 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Martinsburg, West Virginia, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
“Our Charity in Action Award celebrates individuals and groups who dedicate themselves to serving others,” said CCWVa President & CEO Mark Phillips. “These honorees, like Toni Wiesberg, show how compassion and commitment can transform lives and strengthen our communities.”
Wiesberg is the founder of Faith Feeding Freedom, a nonprofit that provides support to people experiencing homelessness and hunger in Martinsburg. Her involvement began in 2018 while searching for her best friend’s missing granddaughter. During this time, she was inspired by someone feeding homeless individuals and soon decided to start similar efforts locally. Since establishing Faith Feeding Freedom on November 30, 2018, Wiesberg and her volunteers have served more than 75 people each week with meals, clothing, hygiene products, winter supplies, fellowship, and prayer. The group has also helped reunite families, find housing solutions, assist with treatment programs, and provide medications—all through volunteer work.
“Catholic Charities West Virginia is proud to celebrate people who give so selflessly in service to others,” said Phillips. “Their work embodies the heart of our mission and the impact we can make when we care for one another.”
Tickets for the luncheon are $50 per person and are available at https://www.ccwva.org/event/cia-martinsburg-2025/ or by phone at 304.905.9860.
Proceeds from the event will help fund CCWVa’s programs and services throughout eastern West Virginia.
