Catholic Charities West Virginia (CCWVa) has launched the “Together for West Virginia” campaign, a fundraising and awareness initiative aimed at reducing poverty and enhancing dignity throughout the state. The campaign, which began on May 20 and concluded on June 20, 2025, coincides with West Virginia Day.
CCWVa, recognized as the largest private social service provider in the state, offers support to tens of thousands annually without regard to background or faith. Through this campaign, CCWVa seeks to engage communities across all 55 counties in a movement of compassion and meaningful change.
Participants can contribute in several ways:
– Donations are accepted online at https://Donate4WV.givesmart.com. An anonymous donor will match contributions up to $10,000.
– Limited-edition t-shirts are available for purchase, with proceeds supporting CCWVa programs.
– Individuals can create personalized fundraising pages to raise awareness and donations.
– Supporters are encouraged to share CCWVa’s stories and updates through social media and newsletters.
“This campaign is about more than fundraising—it’s about coming together as neighbors, as West Virginians, and as people who care,” stated Mark Phillips, President and CEO of Catholic Charities West Virginia. “When we support one another, we build stronger families, stronger communities, and a stronger West Virginia.”
Funds raised will be used to provide food, shelter, and essential services aimed at helping individuals achieve stability and self-sufficiency. The organization emphasizes that these efforts offer dignified support rather than mere handouts.
Catholic Charities West Virginia is committed to offering compassionate care based on Catholic social teaching during challenging times. With community involvement through “Together for West Virginia,” they aim to bring lasting change across the Mountain State.
